Designed to bring the global Wine Tourism community together, the platform will host a roundtable with the President of Turismo de Portugal and the Deputy Minister of Turismo de Uruguay on the 5th of May
The Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO) has launched the GWTOtalks, a series of webinars designed to connect the most relevant stakeholders of the Wine and Gastronomic Tourism industry worldwide. The platform’s next event scheduled next week is bringing Portugal and Uruguay to the table.
Following the launch of the GWTO last November 5th, the organization created an open platform to support its industry. This was the obvious next step for the international knowledge and entrepreneurism network, whose aim is to contribute to the socio-economic development of wine tourism destinations.
Under its inclusive, supportive and sustainable governance framework (aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals), the GWTO will use these talks to enhance collaboration among its members, encouraging them to compete through coopetitiveness: sharing knowledge, common challenges, and solutions to help all parties prosper, both locally and globally.
Bringing together entities from different parts of the globe, the GWTOtalks will initiate conversations on hot topics of common interest with experts from public bodies, academic institutions, and businesses worldwide while promoting their products, services and training programmes. The first webinar, which took place last November 30th, featured the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina, Matías Lammens, and the Director General of Tourism Policy of Greece, Panagiota Dionysopoulou as guest speakers.
The second instalment of the talks, “Connecting Governments: Uruguay & Portugal”, will take place on Wednesday, May 5th at 16h00 CET, with guest speakers Luís Araújo, President of Turismo de Portugal, and Remo Monzeglio, Deputy-Minister of Turismo de Uruguay.
